Remember Me

Staff Profile

Darlene Young — Sales Circuit Clerk

I was hired as a circuit clerk in the APS Sales Division in November 2000. My duties are to check in returned circuits; make data entries of all the new books that come in, giving them their bar codes; sending out the acknowledgement letters; and taking digital images of each page of every book. I enjoy my job because it gives me a chance to view all the interesting and unusual stamps and postcards that come in. I also enjoy my co-workers, as we have a good team and we find some time for some laughs and good times while we work.

Outside of work my time has been taken up with getting settled into a new home, which is always a job in itself, but it’s been fun decorating. I love gardening — both flowers and vegetables. I love to do canning of all sorts and enjoy cooking and baking. I have two beautiful granddaughters, Emily who is 9 years old and Abigail who is 3 years old. The girls live in Harrisburg, so I don’t get to spend as much time with them as I’d like, but cherish the time when I do get to see them.

I am very family oriented, so when I come to work, I also consider the American Philatelic Society my family and feel very much at home. I have been with the APS for ten years this month and value my time here.
