Autographs and Authors at APS StampShow 2008

Autographs will be available for those who wish to have books signed during APS StampShow 2008 August 14-17 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.

Chris Calle
U.S. and foreign stamp designer Chris Calle will be available to sign stamps, cover, or the new U.S. Stamps of Chris Calle album available free in downloadable pdf format at: www.stamps.org/albums/calle.pdf

The album has places for all of Calle’s U.S. stamps, plus a blank page for his autograph, covers, and other memorabilia. An outstanding artist who has created cover cachets for many American Philatelic Society events, Calle also designed the Portraits of the Wild West to be released in a 16-stamp Marshall Islands pane on August 14 at APS StampShow, and will take part in the August 15 first day ceremony for the new U.S. 42-cent Sunflower stamp.

Chris will be available to sign autographs periodically at the APS Booth throughout the four-day show.

Donald J. Sundman
One of the nation’s most successful stamp dealers and a tireless promoter of philately at all levels of the hobby, Mystic Stamp Co. President Donald J. Sundman is co-author with Janet Klug of 100 Greatest American Stamps, available for $29.95 at the APS Booth. He will be available to sign copies of the book at the Affiliates Booth on Thursday, August 14, at 3:30 p.m.

Lawrence Block
An exceptional mystery author whose works have won awards on three continents, APS member Lawrence Block may be best known to philatelists for his engaging tales of introspective, stamp-collecting killer-for-hire John Keller. The keynote speaker at this year’s Tiffany Dinner, Block will have his latest Keller opus, Hit and Run, for sale and will autograph copies Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Affiliates Booth.

Janet Klug
Immediate Past President of APS Janet Klug is as active and vibrant an ambassador for the stamp hobby as you’ll find in America today, an accomplished exhibitor, and an engaging philatelic writer who has written frequently for The American Philatelist, Linn’s Stamp News, Scott Stamp Monthly, Global Stamp News, and many other journals of the hobby. She is co-author with Donald Sundman of 100 Greatest U.S. Stamps, and most recently in collaboration with the Smithsonian National Postal Museum authored a Guide to Stamp Collecting, available for $19.95 at the APS Booth. She will be available to sign autographs at the Affiliates Booth on Saturday at 1 p.m.
