The APS Stamp Saturday is a mini-seminar where participants have the opportunity to learn a lot about stamp collecting in a short period of time. Held in conjunction with StampShow each August and the APS Winter Show in January, this workshop provides the opportunity for beginning collectors to learn the philatelic essentials.

Learn the basics, including:

  • How to get started
  • Where to find stamps
  • When to soak stamps (and when not to soak)
  • How to safely store your collectibles
  • How to use catalogs and reference materials
  • How to use the necessary tools of the hobby
  • How to identify worldwide stamps

Each participant receives:

  • Helpful handouts and brochures
  • Stamp tongs, magnifier, stock page, and worldwide stamps and covers
  • An opportunity to look through a huge pile of worldwide stamps to practice stamp identification. (Take some stamps to add to your collection!)
  • Personal attention and answers to your questions.
  • A chance to explore the APS show, including dealers, exhibits, seminars, and so much more.

Sign up today! Register for the August 16, 2008 event online or by contacting Gretchen Moody, Director of Education.

Note: Session is designed for adult beginners (ages 15 and up only, please.)
