Individuals who have been accredited as philatelic judges by the APS Committee on Accreditation of National Exhibitions and Judges (CANEJ) or have registered with the committee as apprentice judges are included in the above directories. Fully accredited Judges are listed alphabetically and geographically, and a separate alphabetical list of Apprentice Judges is available.

Fully accredited judges are identified by the letters (I) International or (N) National, the highest level of stamp exhibition at which each has actually served as a judge. The principal specialty areas of philatelic expertise are given for each accredited judge.

Individuals currently apprenticing to become judges are identified by the letter (A) Apprentice. Many stamp exhibitions now utilize at least one apprentice judge on their judging panel so that those interested might gain experience by serving with accredited judges and thereby become sufficiently competent to meet the accreditation requirements. Note regarding literature apprentices: a few literature apprentices who also are regular accredited judges are listed in the regular judging listings.

To become an accredited judge, one must first register as an apprentice with CANEJ, complete a series of four judging apprenticeships with an above average rating, attend appropriate judging seminars sanctioned by CANEJ, and have prepared an exhibit that was awarded at least a vermeil medal at a WSP show within the past two years. After completing the stringent apprenticeship evaluations, applicants must receive the endorsement of 2/3 of the CANEJ Committee and sign the Judge's Pledge to become accredited.

Further information about the APS accreditation program and forms to register as an apprentice judge are available from APS National Headquarters, 100 Match Factory Place, Bellefonte, PA 16823. Phone 814-933-3803, fax 814-933-6128, or e-mail Dana Guyer.
