July 17-21, 2017
The number of participants at Volunteer Work Week grows each year. Come find out why volunteers return year after year.
David, Ohio - This was another great opportunity to spend a week with fellow collectors from around the country. An excellent chance to pay back the APS and APRL for everything I've received from them.
Bill, Rhode Island - If you have an opportunity to attend, you must come!
What to Expect:
The week includes a kickoff breakfast on Monday, a tour and overview of each department and programs, and ends with a thank-you pizza party on Friday.
Individuals will work in the different departments and may spend the entire week on one project or help with several different projects over the week by spending as little as half a day on a single project. Many tasks do not require special skills and are open to spouses or other non-member guests. Sample opportunities are listed below, but we are open to suggestions if you have a particular talent that you would like to share.
Some Fun Time! Although the principal purpose of the week will be to accomplish tasks, volunteers will have evening opportunities to use the American Philatelic Research Library, peruse Circuit Sales and donation materials, and shop in the Stamp and Cover Shop.
Expenses:Travel, lodging, and most food will be the participants' responsibility, but your out of pocket expenses are tax deductible. See Local Lodging for ideas where to stay.
