Reference Collection

Many items that have been judged "not genuine" subsequently have been donated to the American Philatelic Reference Collection of Fakes and Forgeries. This provides the service with a tremendous resource and also removes spurious material from the marketplace. The collection is housed in the American Philatelic Building, and researchers may use it there. Donations of known counterfeits may be made to the collection at any time.
