JUDGE'S PLEDGE

I agree, if certified as an Accredited Judge by the American Philatelic Society, to approach all philatelic judging in a realistic and objective manner.

Compatible with personal responsibility, prior commitments, and available transportation, I will be willing to serve, when invited, as a judge at a minimum of one and maximum of six WSP shows (including AmeriStamp Expo) each year.

I will not exhibit for competition in any show in which I am a judge.
In all cases I will try, to the best of my ability, to render honest and equitable judgment upon the material presented, without fear or favor.
I will keep confidential all discussions between jury members, votes of  individual jury members including myself, and anything that might telegraph the final result prior to official announcement.

I will be willing to train apprentice judges during my assignments and will report to the Committee on the Accreditation of National Exhibitions and Judges, when requested, my estimate of the qualification of any apprentice assigned to work with me.

Should controversial factors arise in the judging, I will consult disinterested non-exhibiting authorities in the given field for clarification before rendering a decision.

I further agree that, when judging, I will attend, and fully participate in, the critique of exhibits, and be of assistance to exhibitors at all reasonable times during the open hours of the show.

I acknowledge that if I accept a judging assignment and fail to notify the Organizing Committee promptly of my inability to attend, I may be subject to suspension by the Accreditation Committee.
