October isn't that far away, so plan now for your own Stamp Collecting Month Celebration. For the past few years CAC chairman Tom Fortunato has designed a variety of cancels to be used by Chapters around the country for their special events held during stamp collecting month. The theme for each cancel has dealt with stamp designs issued by the US Postal Service on October 1 of that year.
APS Chapters may request a customized cancel by providing their Chapter name, number, city, state, zip, and date the cancel will be used. Send these details to Tom at the email at the bottom of the page at least 60 days before its date. He will forward an electronic image to the Chapter which must submit it to the appropriate post office for their approval.
There is no charge for having a cancel customized. The USPS pays for the rubber cancellation device to be made up and delivered to your Chapter representative. It must be returned to them no later than one month after the date.
